Julie’s vision is simple: vibrant, inclusive communities where older people feel valued, empowered, and truly connected.
Before COVID, Julie was a professional seniors’ entertainer and performed over 600 concerts for Aged Care residents and seniors’ groups. Julie has seen firsthand how powerful music can be for the elderly, but she has also witnessed the negative effects of loneliness, isolation, and disconnection for older people. When the COVID pandemic struck, Julie made it her life's mission to help older people feel valued and connected.
The SeniorsChannel is a testament to her commitment to leveraging technology for a greater purpose – enhancing the health, well-being and engagement of seniors.

Research tells us that nearly 9 in 10 residents in Australian aged care are living with at least one mental health condition, and close to half experience depression.
Loneliness and social isolation compound this further, affecting 1 in 6 older Australians and carrying health risks comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day. At the same time, Australia's strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards now require providers to demonstrate real, measurable outcomes in resident wellbeing, engagement and quality of life.
The SeniorsChannel was built because older Australians deserve better, and so do the teams who show up for them every day.
Our advisory team brings together some of Australia's most respected aged care clinicians and quality leaders, people who have spent careers at the frontline of ageing, who understand what genuinely moves the dial for residents, and who have chosen to be part of The SeniorsChannel because they believe in what it can do.

When I first encountered The SeniorsChannel, I saw something rare. A platform that genuinely understands older people are whole people. Not just patients. Not just residents. People with identities, histories, emotions and needs that span the physical, cognitive, spiritual and emotional.
The SeniorsChannel has the potential to help older individuals beat frailty and sarcopenia through interactive exercise programs, support cognitive function through stimulation and engagement, ease boredom, improve sleep and reduce stress, and do all of this in a way that feels meaningful, not medicinal.
As The SeniorsChannels’ Geriatric Care Content Advisor, my role is to ensure the content lives up to that potential. I want to make sure programs are appropriate and accessible for people living with dementia, while remaining inclusive for a broader ageing population.
I want to support a non-pharmacological approach to wellbeing one that uses engagement, movement, music, connection and purpose as tools for a better quality of life.
It is an honour to be part of The SeniorsChannel. I believe this platform can make a real difference in the lives of older Australians and I'm proud to help ensure it does.

I have been in aged care for over 20 years. It takes a lot to impress me. The SeniorsChannel impressed me.
I saw firsthand what it did for one of our guests. He went from sitting in a chair, not interacting to dancing enthusiastically in the middle of the room. The SeniorsChannel is beautifully thought through.
Hours of entertainment, activities, cognitive stimulation, and reminiscence content, all built on a Netflix-style interface that people actually want to engage with.
But here is what really matters: this is psychosocial engagement at its finest. The clinical outcomes speak for themselves.
Reduced depression, fewer unmet needs, less reliance on antipsychotics, fewer falls, less delirium, increased health and wellbeing and most importantly- less loneliness. These are the indicators we spend enormous energy trying to move, and The SeniorsChannel moves them.
It is affordable, and it makes residents and teams happy, too. I have said it publicly and I will say it again: this should be in every aged care facility in Australia.
Julie Hogarth-Williams has created something with real heart, and that is rare. I loved The SeniorsChannel so much that I have joined Julie’s advisory team so I can help develop the programs that will improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for older people.

After more than two decades working in aged care across clinical practice, education, quality, compliance and operations, I have learned that the greatest challenge facing our sector is not simply helping people live longer, it is helping them live well.
What drew me to The SeniorsChannel was its unwavering commitment to understanding older people as individuals. Every program, every story, and every piece of content is created with purpose, informed directly by the voices, interests and experiences of older Australians themselves.
As providers adapt to the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, there is a growing expectation to demonstrate dignity, choice, meaningful engagement and quality of life. The SeniorsChannel provides a practical and measurable way to support these outcomes.
It transforms engagement from an activity into a genuine wellbeing strategy.
What excites me most is that this is not entertainment for entertainment's sake. It is evidence-informed content that sparks conversation, connection, reminiscence, learning and joy. It helps residents maintain identity, strengthen relationships and remain connected to the things that matter most to them.

I spent years performing directly for older Australians, delivering more than 600 concerts in aged care facilities, retirement villages and community settings. Long before The SeniorsChannel existed, I had a front row seat to what genuine engagement looks and feels like, and what it does for a person.
I watched people who were quiet and withdrawn begin to engage and interact in truly remarkable ways. I saw the power of a story, a laugh, a moment of recognition.
I also saw that no matter how dedicated the teams caring for them, the demand for that kind of connection is simply greater than any one team can meet alone.
As a Founder and Engagement Specialist, my focus is on ensuring every piece of content on The SeniorsChannel is built with a genuine understanding of older people. What moves them. What connects them. What makes them feel seen. That knowledge does not come from a textbook. It comes from years spent in the room with them.
