How do I create an account?

How to create your account:

  1. Go to: https://theseniorschannel.com/

  2. On the home page click: Sign up for free

  3. Complete the details on the Create an account page and click continue

  4. You can sign up for free so just click complete

  5. You should receive a confirmation email and welcome email.

Handy Hint

The email address and password you use will be your login details. Make sure to choose a work email address and password that other staff can use if needed and leave the details next to the TV/s

What equipment do we need to get set up?

You can watch The SeniorsChannel programs on your TV via the following options:

  • A smart TV with an internet connection

  • A TV with an HDMI port connected via a computer or laptop or smartphone or tablet

You will also need:

  • Reliable internet connection

  • Updated web browser, we recommend:

  • Google Chrome

  • Firefox

  • Edge

  • Safari

NOTE: Internet Explorer is not supported by our site and will not work

Is there a set up cost?

NO.
We don't charge any setup costs.

How can we watch the programs on

Smart TV with internet connection

To watch The SeniorsChannel on your Smart TV follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your smart TV is connected to the internet.

  2. Launch your internet browser. We recommend using the most recent version of Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari

  3. Go to www.theseniorschannel.com and sign in to your account

  4. Choose your program

  5. Enjoy

Laptop connected to TV

Here is a quick instruction video or follow these steps below:

You will need:

  • TV with an HDMI port

  • Laptop

  • HDMI cable (can be purchased from JB HIFI and many other stores)

  • Reliable internet connection

  • Updated web browser. We recommend the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari

Instructions

  1. Connect your laptop to the TV using the HDMI cable

  2. On the TV remote select the HDMI port you have just used

  3. If you can now see the same picture on your laptop and TV then you have connected correctly.

  4. Launch your internet browser.

  5. Go to www.theseniorschannel.com and sign in to your account

  6. Choose your program

  7. Enjoy

Device connected to TV

Here is a quick instruction video or follow these steps below:

You will need:

  1. TV with HDMI port

  2. iPad or iPhone or another device

  3. HDMI cable (can be purchased from JB HIFI and many other stores)

  4. For Apple devices: Lightning AV adaptor (can be purchased from JB HIFI and Apple stores)

  5. Internet connection

  6. Updated web browser. We recommend the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari

Instructions:

  1. Plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the TV

  2. Plug the other end into the HDMI port on the lightening adaptor

  3. Plug the adaptor into your phone

  4. You should now be able to view your phone content on your TV

  5. Launch your internet browser.

  6. Go to www.theseniorschannel.com and sign in to your account

  7. Choose your program

  8. Enjoy

What programs are available on The SeniorsChannel?

For now, there are 2 different types of programs available on The SeniorsChannel. However, we have other programs in development that will be made available during 2021.

Concerts

The SeniorsChannel concerts are designed to bring that nostalgic live entertainer feel right onto your screen.

The concerts are both interactive and entertaining and are carefully crafted to promote engagement and connection. Our goal is to leave the viewer feeling happy and lifted.

Exercises

A series of 20 to 30 min exercise classes provided by Australia's leading Seniors exercise and health experts Active Seniors.

Active Seniors have developed a variety of safe and effective exercise programs that target the specific needs of older adults.

I am a Lifestyle Coordinator working in an Aged Care Home. Can I sign up using my personal email address?

Technically yes, but we don’t recommend it.

The email address and password you sign up with is the one that must be accessible to all staff so we advise that you use a work email if possible and place the details near the TV/s that will be used.

Can I sign up more than 1 Aged Care Home?

Yes!

How do I cancel?

If you don’t want to continue, you can cancel your membership at any time. Follow the prompts to cancel on the Billing page, and your membership will not renew. Please note that there aren’t refunds for partially unused membership periods.

How do I change my password?

  1. Click My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu

  2. Select Password 

  3. Update your password

I have forgotton my password, how can I reset it?

  1. Go to the login page

  2. Click the forgot password link.

  3. Enter your email address

  4. You will be sent an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

(Don’t forget to check your junk/other folder.)

How do I update my billing information?

  1. Sign in to your account

  2. Click My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu

  3. Select Billing and update your billing information.

How do I cancel my recurring subscription?

  1. Sign in to your account

  2. Click My Account or Dashboard from the top navigation menu

  3. Select Billing and locate your subscription plan at the bottom of the page

  4. Click Change Plan and Cancel Membership

Your membership will be cancelled and your access will be removed at the end of your current payment period.

My credit card is being declined. Why is that?

Many credit/debit cards have online purchase restrictions. If your card is being declined, please contact your credit card company to let them know the purchase you would like to make is valid. Also, certain credit/debit cards do not allow for recurring subscription billing, and therefore, may be denied.

Troubleshooting

The programs don't play back smoothly. How can I fix this?

There are a number of reasons why the programs may not playback smoothly.

Which browser are you using?

We recommend the latest version of:

  • Firefox

  • Edge

  • Safari

NOTE: Internet Explorer is not supported by our site and will not work

Internet Provider

It is possible that your playback experience is affected by the area you live in or the strength of your broadband.

Contact your internet provider to assist in this instance.

Firewall blocking

Your company may have set up a firewall blocker to restrict external websites. If this is the case contact your manager or IT department.

When I try to sign up there is a blank screen. Why is that?

Check the following:

How many TV’s/devices can we watch it on?

You can watch The SeniorsChannel programs on up to 5 devices at once.

(please note, the quality of multiple views will depend on the strength of your internet)

I have paid for an on-demand concert.

How long is it available for me to watch?

The concert will be available for you and your residents to view for 24hrs and you can watch as many times as you like within that time.

You can also watch the concert in as many sections as you like within your facility.

We don't have a smart TV. Can we still watch The SeniorsChannel?

YES!
